The Highland Military Tattoo

The Highland Military Tattoo 2015 will take place in Fort George, Inverness, from 11th September to 13th September 2015. There is increased seating capacity and there will be a Matinee on Saturday to cater for those with younger families.

Come for a Highland extravaganza at the UK’s largest military fort – the spectacular backdrop to this year’s Highland Military Tattoo. Getting off to a roaring start with a fly past from an RAF Typhoon and culminating in a dazzling fireworks display, the Tattoo showcases a mix of local, military and international acts and celebrates the best of traditional and contemporary Highland culture. The Real Loch Ness Monster: Inverness Science Festival Lecture

Thursday 7 May 2015, from 13:00 to 14:00, Gary Campbell, President of the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club and Cait McCullagh, Curator at IMAG, will present a two handed view of the history of sightings, findings, tradition and exciting fossil record evidence for deep loch activity in the Highlands. This Inverness Science Festival event gives an opportunity to look at innovative and traditional science.

Dance music festival to replace RockNess

This is the information from The Inverness Courier (written by Ellie House):

A major dance music festival looks set to replace RockNess and bring hundreds of clubbers to the shores of Loch Ness this summer. It follows the cancellation of the RockNess festival and it is believed the same organisers are behind the latest event. More details are expected to be released but it is understood the festival will take place on the same Dores site as RockNess.

Etape Loch Ness

Etape Loch Ness takes place on Sunday 26 April 2015. It is a closed road cycle sportive following a 360 degree 66 mile / 106-km route around iconic Loch Ness, starting and finishing in Inverness. To ensure the safety of participants and other road users, the route will be closed at different times. All road closures will be clearly signed and marshalled. Researching and Living 1745 at Culloden Battlefield

This event will take place Fri 17 Apr 2015.  A presentation by Thomas Grooms and Elliot Macfarlane. This Presentation discusses the challenges and rewards of being part of MacFarlanes’ Company, a Living History Troupe.
This group uses Living History presentations to teach people, about the rich history and culture of Scotland and the Scottish diaspora in North America.
